What to Expect During Your Mammogram
Registration & Brief History
You’ll be asked about age, symptoms, pregnancies, breastfeeding, and prior scans.
Preparation
- You will be asked to remove jewellery
- A dedicated changing room is provided
- Deodorants/powders should be avoided (they can mimic calcifications)
The Mammogram
The breast is positioned and gently compressed for a few seconds. Compression:
- Improves clarity
- Reduces radiation
- Is quick and tolerable
Ultrasound (if needed)
Sometimes Ultrasound correlation is done for clarity this is routine and not a cause for concern.
Report & Consultation
Your images are reviewed by Dr. Ashish Dua, and a detailed report is provided the same day.
